TL;DR - In a nutshell ✨
✅ Product job hunt is very hard and the market is saturated.
✅ You need to make the best of each opportunity. AI can help you prepare.
✅ Learn how to evaluate and improve your resume.

Let's face it: the 2024 job market for Product people is brutal.
Tech layoffs, hiring freezes, burn-out (Senior PM is the #1 job people want to leave in 2023) and increased competition have made landing a PM role harder than ever.
This means you need to leverage every edge you can get. And AI can help.
But if you are looking to use AI to take over the whole job search process for you :
- to write your resume for you,
- to apply on autopilot to every PM Job posting
- to write 100s of automated cover letters
❌ You can stop reading and move away. I won’t help you with that, and I would not suggest anything of sorts.
On the contrary, because competition is fierce, you need to stand out!
Automated AI resumes and applications are not the answer.
My goal is to show you a few ways to use AI to increase your chances and focus on your uniqueness.
This is the first article of a series where we’ll share examples from experience to maximise your chances to land that Dream Job.
But what do I know about applying for a PM job?
In 2023, within one month I applied to about 60 PM jobs and got into 20 recruitment processes, which led me to finally join lemlist.
I could have applied to 60 job openings PER DAY, but I would never have achieved a 30% interview ratio.
The key was targeting and personalization.
I used AI to challenge ideas, practice for interviews and to automate the tedious parts of the job hunt process.
To get you started, here are 4 simple hacks to boost your Product job search, using mostly free tools, as usual.
Because the prompts are quite extensive, I didn’t include them in the article directly.
I invite you to click on the links to the Notion Page 🔗 to access the full prompts and detailed ChatGPT conversations.
📝 Evaluate your Resume
Let’s start with your most important asset, your resume.
60.3% of executives partially understand the value PMs bring.
👉 Your resume needs to scream impact.
It must be concise but also clearly state what you achieved and what makes you great.
To ensure your resume fits the best industry practice, use AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and others. They make great sparring partners.
A simple prompt will help you evaluate the « quality » of your resume and get tips.
In my example I used online articles to get the key elements of a good PM resume.
Then I synthesized them in a prompt to list the pros and cons of my resume.
And share actionable tips to make it better.
